FITNESS CHILD: JUMP ROPE & HOOPS FOR HEART!

February is American Heart Month, and I'm participating in the Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart Event at my school on 2/17/17.  You can support me by 3/3/17 or the American Heart Association anytime to help fight heart disease.

It runs in my family and I want to help children not have to deal with this problem when they get older.  What we eat and drinking a lot of water is important, but also exercise is very important. That's why I'm the Fitness Child!

Stay active, have fun and take care of your heart everyday!

FITNESS CHILD: Don't let asthma stop you!

I like going running with my mom on Saturday mornings, but last summer I started having problems breathing and I couldn't go as long, I had to stop a lot.  My mom took me to the doctor and I have asthma.  The doctor gave me two inhalers, one I use every day and the other one I use before I play sports.

You don't have to let asthma stop you from doing fun activities and staying active. Tell your parents if you have a hard time breathing when you run and let them take you to the doctor to get some help.

I'm still playing basketball, running up and down the court at full speed, making points and blocking shots! Have fun and stay active!

FITNESS CHILD, Getting It Done, While Having Fun!

A great way to get active outside, especially during this time of year, is to attend local festivals.  They are usually free, have a lot of kids, and fun games are always around:

The fitness child, Zachary Smith loves going to these events and meeting new kids to play with. As long as you make sure your child is supervised at all times, these events can be fun for your child and you!

FITNESS CHILD, Ready to give fitness programs to children in the NE Columbia area!

Hi, I'm a elementary school student who had an idea to start a fitness program with other children to help them get stronger and healthier. This was my original idea:

Fitness Child original vision

If you want to get on my fitness program, contact us:

In the meantime, here are a few things you can do to get started on getting fit:

1. Drinking plenty of water
2. Eating more fresh fruits and vegetables
3. Doing at least 20 push-ups and sit-ups every day
4. Staying fit by playing and having fun

I like to do my 20 push-ups before I eat breakfast and go to school.

I like to do my 20 sit-ups before I eat breakfast and go to school, also.

Contact Miriam Smith to arrange a fitness session with Zachary and your child at a park in the local NE Columbia area: 803-309-8108!
